We have an exciting new job vacancy right now in Fair Shares for a neighbourhood connector working in the Barton and Tredworth area of Gloucester. We’re looking for an exciting, friendly and creative person who understands the power of community and bringing people together, and can recognise the skills and talents in our neighbourhoods that are ready to be unleashed.
This role will be for 30 hours a week at £28,000 pro rata.
This neighbourhood connector role will be working in our team but spending their time getting out and about in Barton and Tredworth, meeting and connecting with families and children with the aim to create new activities, social groups or friendships. This could be as simple as connecting two parents with a shared hobby, or starting a new regular community activity for families, eg pizza nights at our allotment.
This is a great opportunity for someone with an open and friendly personality who enjoys being out and meeting new people and can see those hidden links and interests that are ready to grow. This is very much a hands on role, working alongside people and the different community groups in our area. A lot of the work will involve linking with the Bartongate family centre and tapping into their resources for the families in our area.
This neighbourhood connector role is one of eight in the county, and the whole project is being supported by the Gloucestershire Gateway Trust, who are handling the applications for the job centrally. You can find out more about the job and how to apply here.
If you want to speak to us about the job or want to know more information about how we work and what the job would look like in Barton and Tredworth, please feel free to contact us on 01452 415900 or email gloucester@fairshares.org.uk.
