Brightening Up Barton Street

7th July 2023
A planter on Barton Street with a wheelbarrow full of plants next to it. The planter itself has some trash in it and overgrown plants with weeds.

Kathy trundled down Barton Street with a wheelbarrow last wednesday and spent the morning tidying up the planter outside the music store, helped by Brigitte (a local resident).

Thanks to a donation from the Rotary Club of Gloucester she was able to buy some plants and flowers from Pound Farm Shop , who gave her advice on which would survive best and were generous enough to also give a discount.

She’ll be using these plants and flowers to refresh the planters along Barton Street. Lloyd has also started working with some young volunteers to paint them, further adding a nice touch of colour to the street.
