Christmas Festivities 2017

18th December 2017
Chris at Stroud Christmas Party
Another year has gone by and it’s time again for our Gloucester and Stroud Christmas parties.

Here’s a joint post featuring some thoughts from our Gloucester and Stroud team on how their celebrations both went.

Stroud

Stroud Fair Shares had a fantastic Christmas Party at The Maypole Hall in Paganhill. We had a great variety of people there, bringing together those who attend our walks, our social groups and the many people who help each other out and support each other through the timebank. It’s all of you that make Fair Shares so special and successful and we really appreciate what you all bring to our organisation.

Everyone brought a dish of food to share and we were spoilt for choice with all the delicious quiches, salads, sandwiches, snacks and cakes. Entertainment was provided by the Fair Shares Music group, who all did brilliantly and definitely got us in the Christmas mood with their selection of carols and Christmas songs. It was lovely to see everyone chatting to each other and having fun. Thank you to the many people who helped out serving food and drinks, getting the hall ready and cleaning up afterwards.

Thank you so much to all that came, and for those who couldn’t make it we missed you! Hope you all have a good Christmas and see you in the New Year.

Gloucester

We had another great turn out today at the Gloucester Fair Shares Christmas party. It’s always a great time for all the participants who are busy working away in the far off corners of Fair Shares to all come together and have a big celebration as one. It was brilliant to see everyone and have a catch up, especially with some of those who we haven’t seen in a while.

While people were busy chatting and eating we did ask everyone to have a think about what Fair Shares means to them and write it on our big board. We had some lovely comments, very deep and very touching. My two personal favourites that highlights what I love about Fair Shares are: “A peace of mind.” and “Family!”

So thanks to everyone who came along and helped make today another great celebration. Also apologies to those who had to put up with Rich’s singing – We’ll work on that for next year!
