Our CEO, Jez Spencer, ran the Eden Project marathon

On Sunday, 19. September 2014 Jez ran raising money for Fair Shares. The course was an extremely hilly 26.2 miles and he can be seen casually running over the finish line in the video below. Jez aims for one physical challenge a year and he said “This was the hardest marathon I have ever completed. The organisation was fantastic and support of the route was sparse but encouraging when it appeared. Lots of children helping out the adults by giving out water and the much needed jelly babies and offering to push me up a hill at one stage! The last two miles were extremely hard on the legs and the mile long run down to the centre of the Eden Project was painful. Crossing the finish line was certainly a welcome feeling and the free cornish pasty and pint at the end went down well.”

Jez has raised over £500 so far via the Just Giving website and donations can still be made online. The money raised will all go towards supporting the use of our vehicles for the communities of Gloucester, If you would like to raise money for Fair Shares then please contact us to share your idea so we can support you.
