Pumpkins, Soup, Sparklers!

12th November 2025
Our annual pumpkin carving and sparkler events went off without a hitch.

We had a great, if slightly wet, time at this year’s pumpkin carving. We upped our game and had some serrated saw-like tools available to use which allowed more intricate, elaborate designs (note the pumpkin with spiral eyes!).

We had similarly damp weather for our soup and sparklers evening too. However it was lovely to welcome new and familiar faces to our allotment where we could all warm up over cup of soup. We had three soups – parsnip & apple, leek & potato & carrot, and tomato & lentil. They were all equally popular and went well with the rolls and bread donated from Hobbs House bakery.

After warming up with the soup, the children (and adults!) enjoyed playing responsibly with the sparklers, not letting the rain get them down.
