Spooky Pumpkins Make a Comeback

Our beloved pumpkin carving sessions returned once more to our allotment.

We had a thrilling time down at our allotment as we bust out the sharpies, spoons and knives. Lots of families joined us and got cracking with creating their own personal pumpkins with all kinds of terrifying designs fit to grace their porches and windows. As always the adults were put hard to work turning the various doodles into actual carvings, and we think everyone did an excellent job.

At the allotment we’d grown pumpkins of our own and decided to play a game of ‘Guess the Weight’ with the biggest one. Over the course of October lots of people visited the allotment and submitted a wide range of guesses. Eventually we weighed our pumpkin and it came out to a hefty 13.2kg. Rachel contacted the winners and gave them a reward for coming closest. Congratulations!
