Hours: 22.5 per week flexible (by negotiation)

About Us
Fair Shares is not a conventional charity providing services and this is not a conventional
CEO post! We are looking for an adaptable and creative person to provide consensus
leadership for our dynamic team. Our current CEO is stepping down and we are now
looking for an experienced and passionate CEO who will have the opportunity to build
on current work and to work innovatively to lead the next stages of development and
growth of Fair Shares. Based in Gloucester, the work involves some travel across
Gloucestershire and sometimes further afield in an advocacy role.

Building Stronger Communities

Fair Shares was the first UK timebank, established in 1998. Since then, we have grown
our timebanks in Gloucester and Stroud district, working alongside communities to help
people to build relationships, recognise that they have skills and attributes to contribute,
and know that they can ask for neighbourly help if they need it. We are a small, dynamic
organisation with an excellent reputation and strong partnerships with local statutory and
voluntary organisations. We are proud of our ability to listen to local people, to draw
people in and to facilitate neighbourly give and take.

About You
The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for the operational and strategic
work of Fair Shares Community Timebanks, while being very hands-on. You will have
the ability to build relationships with our staff, participants, trustees, partners, funders
and policy makers. You will be able to draw on your experience to demonstrate an
excellent understanding of strengths-based community development and the role that
timebanking can play in building strong communities.

If this sounds like you, we’d like to hear from you!

Your completed application should be sent by email to ceo@fairshares.org.uk
