Here to Help

6th April 2020

Prescriptions, deliveries and fresh food – here’s an overview of what we’ve been up to lately and how we may be able to help you.

From individuals to other organisations, we’ve been making links and helping those in need. In one instance we received a call from an elderly man with dementia who some medicine picking up. We were able to get a Fair Shares member to swing by the local pharmacy and drop the medicine off at the gentleman’s doorstep.

We’ve been working with Hatherly, a local primary school, to help distribute lunches to children unable to attend. We’ve also been giving out stationery as well as Easter eggs donated by Gloucester Feed The Hungry.

Along with The Friendship Cafe we’ve also been making and delivering freshly cooked hot meals. Some of the food used to do this was donated to the food distribution network we’ve involved with by Morrisons. The food’s been going out to various individuals as well as to local NHS staff, like at Bartongate Surgery.
